1.       Minutes from the last meeting held on 20th April were agreed and signed as a true record.

2.       Matters arising from minutes:-

·         The amended Constitution- item 5h was agreed and seconded by Dave Witts. The website will be updated accordingly.

·         ITV West funding – the information regarding this was passed to Colin Durrant of the Boys Brigade.  However, as legal work is still ongoing the BB weren’t able to take up this opportunity.

·         Supply and maintenance of trees on Knights Way, TCllr Tina Brookes has not been given the information regarding the above from TCllr Vernon Smith as stated in last month’s minutes.  As the Committee have agreed at a previous meeting that the addition of the trees would be a good idea, Janet has asked TCllr Smith to apply for these.  We anticipate an update at the next meeting.  As a matter of courtesy, we will write to Rob Hainsworth at TBC who is responsible for maintenance informing him of our intention – however, he will not have to maintain the trees as the suppliers will do this along with the watering.

·         PC Phil Groom has no objections to a meeting with NACRA and the local young people to try and solve the issue of vandalism in the right of way at the back of Tirlebank Way.  However, after discussion it was agreed that as this is such a delicate matter and we don’t want to create an antagonistic atmosphere, we should consult with PC Phil Groom regarding the organisation.  Chairman/Secretary to discuss with Pete Aldridge.  There have also been SARA officers placed at the park in Walton Cardiff Lane and at the Morrison’s car park and entrance as these are also trouble spots.  However, on a positive note, Tewkesbury Regeneration Initiative have included the youth of the area in discussions about what they would like to be able to do in  the town and have received positive and realistic suggestions, so maybe in the future these problems will not occur.

·         A response was received from Richard Waters’s office regarding gully cleaning stating that they would try to complete the work on the stated dates and would revisit missed drains as soon as the schedule allowed.

·         TCllr Tina Brookes was handed a poem outside Tirlebrook School from a child who is fed up with the amount of dog mess along the railway line cycle path.  Dave Witts will contact the Echo to see if they will print it and maybe it will prick the conscience of the inconsiderate dog owners who can’t be bothered to clean up after their dogs.

TCllr Tina Brookes would like it clarified that at present there has been no decision made regarding Playbuild funding for the Derek Graham Play Area.  Also a residents' meeting has been held with Dave Richards from Severn Vale regarding issues of concern i.e. security of their property, fencing to prevent interference.  Please feel free to approach TCllr Brookes with any concerns.

3.        Janet Farrow was invited to attend the Mayor Making Ceremony on Monday 11th May to receive a cheque from the outgoing Town Mayor, Barbara Cromwell for £100 towards the maintenance of the flower beds on Knights Way.  Which she gratefully received on behalf of NACRA.  BCllr John McCloy has very kindly agreed to carry on as coordinator for this year as no one has come forward to take over.  He is liaising with suppliers regarding the summer planting requirements and has obtained sponsorship for all the beds.

4.       The date of the next open meeting was discussed.  It was decided that due to several other events taking place over the coming months, this would be deferred until the AGM in September.  Julie Greening will liaise with TCllr Tina Brookes regarding dates for the use of Tirlebrook School hall.   Julie Greening and Dave Witts will compile a newsletter with the aim of delivery in July.

Meeting closed - 8.30pm.
